Real Estate

THE PROGRAM

San Jose City College offers several Certificates which evidences completion of several courses for both Real Estate Salesperson, Real Estate Broker and Real Estate Appraisers as well as an Associate in Science degree in Real Estate.  Continuing education in real estate is a mandate in this field.

A Real Estate Salesperson to be licensed in the State of California must complete Real Estate Principles and Real Estate Practices plus one other real estate course from the approved list before taking the licensing examination.

A Real Estate Broker must complete a minimum core of courses and several electives (total of 8 courses including the preceeding 3 courses) before being eligible for the State of California exam.

An Appraiser must complete a minimum number of academic class hours before being eligible for the various levels of proficiency exams.

 Real Estate is the best investment in the bay area.
Associate in Science degree Graduates of this two-year program are qualified for employment in real estate offices, and related housing and financial institutions as well as in property management.  The following courses are offered at SJCC:

General Education Requirements Include:

Lab Science, History or Political Science, English, Speech, Humanities, Ethnic Studies, Physical Education, Math and Health Education.
