Mission

"The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence."

Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold: 1) recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and (2) provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
Beta Epsilon Nu is the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter on the San Jose City College campus.  Orientations and induction ceremonies are conducted each semester.  Members have a variety of participatory levels designed to make the most of the honor society experience.  For more information on chapter activities, goals or projects, please contact us or review the calendar on our group website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PTK_SJCC/.
Provisional membership is available to students who enjoy an atmosphere of leadership and academic encouragement and have not yet currently eligible for induction.  Such members may contribute to overall chapter development and participate in all campus activities but will not be recognized by Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters until their induction and may not vote.
Our Chapter is part of the Phi Theta Kappa Nevada California region.  Members are encouraged to compete for regional and national awards.  For more information on our region check the regional website at www.ncraa.org/nvcarn.
