Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Amount:  $3,500-$7,000* per year for up to two years

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be currently enrolled full-time (at least 12 units) at SJCC;
• Have completed at least 24 transferable semester units at SJCC at time of transfer;
• Possess a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.0 on all transferable courses at SJCC;
• Be a junior upon transfer to a baccalaureate institution (have completed at least 60 units of transferable units upon transfer);
• Demonstrate that you are a low-income student with financial need;
• Have overcome challenging obstacles;
• Be enrolled full time at a baccalaureate institution by Fall 2008

*    Recipients will be eligible for a second year of funding if
      all requirements set out by the Chang Foundation are met.

To apply:

• Complete and submit a San Jose City College scholarship application;
• Include an essay describing your college and life experience as well as your goals;
• Demonstrate that you are a low income student with financial need (for example, you could write a narrative about your financial needs and include a tax return);
• Submit Personal Recommendation forms from at least two faculty members.
