Community College Student
Scholarships
Karl S. Pister Leadership Opportunity Award – a $20,000 scholarship to attend
UC Santa Cruz. The scholarship recognizes students who have overcome adverse
socioeconomic circumstances, who have a demonstrated commitment to assisting
and improving the lives of others, and who might not otherwise be able to attend
UCSC for financial reasons. Recipients receive $10,000 scholarships for each
of two years, as well as the support of a strong academic mentoring program
and assistance finding paid summer work experience in a field that complements
their studies. For more information, come to the SJCC Financial Aid Office
Robert N. Chang Transfer Scholarship - a $14,000 scholarship for 8 students
transferring from San José City College to a baccalaureate institution.
The award is intended for highly motivated students who have overcome hardships,
have succeeded academically and have clear goals, yet have demonstrated significant
financial need. Recipients receive $7,000 scholarships for each of two years
to attend the school of their choice. For more information, see the San José
