This is a basic acting class. Students will develop mental and physical
resources for performance and public presentations: self-confidence,
movement, improvisation, techniques for rehearsal and performance, and
analysis of text and character.
Students will review basic acting skills, intermediate level character
study and acting techniques, and extensive scene work in classical and
modern styles. The class is also appropriate for non-majors wishing to
advance their acting skills.
Students learn vocal
skills for performing, public speaking, and self expression. Class exercises
and presentations focus on alleviating performance anxiety and improving vocal
tone, projection, articulation, and vocal expressiveness.
