Metas Program

¡Ayudándote a realizar tus Metas

The Metas Program is a student support service dedicated to increasing the graduation and transfer rates of our Latino/a student population. Metas is the Spanish word for “goals” and the Metas Program focus is helping Latino/a students determine a clear path to successfully achieve their academic goals.

Metas offers Learning Communities; tutoring; academic and career counseling; assistance with textbooks; a summer bridge program; math refresher labs; and workshops to assist students with financial aid, educational plans and placement exams.

The Metas Program Center, located in the Cesar E. Chavez Library & Learning Center Resource Center (L-114), computer lab, a counselor, and a study area.

The SJCC Metas Program was established through a Title V grant. The Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Program (referred to as Title V) assists eligible Hispanic-serving institutions of higher education to expand their capacity to serve Hispanic and low-income students.

The San José City College Metas Program goal is to realize institutional change for the increased success of our Latina/o student population.

The Metas Program is open to all San José City College students.

Metas:  Building student community and empowerment through shared experiences.
