STEM Faculty PLTL Practitioner (FPP) Meeting
Faculty Development Center – GE-118
Objectives of the Faculty PLTL Practitioner’s meeting: The primary objectives are to (a) invite and collaborate with our constituents (faculty who teach the same PLTL-designated STEM course) to learn more about STEM PLTL resources and materials available to SJCC students, Peer Leaders, and faculty; (b) collaboratively share and analyze course syllabi and schedules (access to your course syllabus during this meeting, in both electronic and hard copy form, will facilitate the goals of this meeting) with the goal to align lecture content and schedule with content in corresponding weekly PLTL Workshops; (c) in collaboration with PLs and/or faculty adopt and adapt course content to PLTL Workshop exercises; post, share, and consider in-house publishing PLTL Workshop exercises. Examples will be provided. To achieve the former goal, we will collaboratively develop a plan to design, implement, and refine additional course-specific Workshop exercises. An overview as well as the current status will be included, as will future plans and directions toward sustainability of the PLTL program.
