Charge to the Campus Facilities & Safety Committee Document - rev. 5-1-14
The Committee is charged with making recommendations, on a semester basis, to the College Advisory Council for consideration by the President related to the following areas of concern:
Recommendations of the committee will be verified by vote, with a simple majority constituting a valid decision. The committee shall provide a written record of all meetings and decisions which will be available to any member of the college community at any time.
The Facilities & Safety Committee reports directly to the College Advisory Council (CAC).
This committee has been established to ensure that facilities planning and safety are addressed in an orderly fashion by San Jose City College. This Committee shall, upon receiving requests, carefully consider the positive and negative impact of the request and make recommendations to the College Planning Council for consideration and recommendation to the President for action as appropriate. Members will work in an open and objective process toward consensus on recommendations to serve the best interest of the college.

The committee will elect a Chair and Vice-Chair who are current acting members of the Facilities Committee. Voting of Chair and Vice-Chair will occur at the end of every academic year. Recommendations of the committee will be verified by vote, with a simple majority constituting a valid decision. The committee shall provide a written record of all meetings and decisions which will be available to any member of the college community at any time.
A quorum is defined as more than half of appointed members to the committee.
The Facilities Committee meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 2:00 - 4:00pm in SC-204. The meeting dates for spring 2016 are as follows:
