Biography:
Carol Abohatab is a dance teacher and choreographer based in the South Bay. She received her BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her MFA from Mills College in Oakland, both in dance performance and choreography. This summer, Carol attended her second month-long residency at La Macina di San Cresci in Tuscany, having performed site-specific solos in Montefioralle and at the villa, collaborating with other artists from around the world. Most recently, she created the South Bay Community College Dance collective, which brought together five colleges in the south bay in October of 2012. Carol has been teaching at San Jose City College since 1998, and West Valley College since 2002, and continues to be inspired by her students.
