Biography:
Dr. Susan Cashion is an emerita of the Dance Division of Stanford University, where she taught Mexican, Latin American, and modern dance for thirty-five years. In 1969 she co-founded Los Lupeños de San Jose Mexican dance company, and currently co-director of the organization. She is the founder of the Cashion Cultural Legacy, whose mission is to research, preserve, and create materials related to Mexican dance and expressive culture. Dr. Cashion has served on the Izzies Dance Awards Committee, choreographed for TheatreWorks, been a panelist for the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, and has received several CAC and NEA grants for her work in multicultural arts and education.
