The mission of the San José/Evergreen District Police Department, in partnership with the community, is to deliver quality service with commitment, compassion, and professionalism. This provides a safe and secure environment, ensuring a better quality of life. We accomplish this through knowledge, integrity, and high ethical standards.

A Vision for the San José/Evergreen District Police Department

It is our Vision as the San José/Evergreen District Police Department to preserve a high quality of life and serve the needs of the campus/college community as we carry out our duties. We will function at our best at all times to become the premier law enforcement agency and a model for Departments of comparable size and service level.

To accomplish our Vision it will be necessary to continually recruit, hire and train quality members of the community to serve the ever expanding needs placed upon us with an emphasis on “Making a Difference” with each and every contact.

As management, we are committed to creatively providing the resources for our employees to be successful as they deliver a service that must be tough on crime and yet compassionate in the treatment of victims and the recipients of our service.

As we meet the challenges of 21st century and a growing community, we will constantly look for ways to continuously improve our service delivery through process enhancement, technology and innovative communication skills. This will require openness to new ideas as well as commitment to our Mission, Principles and Values.

New Reverse 911 System

Register for AlertSCC to receive important emergency information.

The AlertSCC system can send thousands of text and voice messages within minutes to home and business land line phones using existing 411 and 911 databases. The system cannot reach cell phones, PDA’s, computers, and devices for the hearing impaired, unless those cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses are registered with the system.

Registering takes only a few minutes through a simple online process. Anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County is encouraged to register their cell phone number and e-mail address by going to http://www.alertscc.com. Click on “Participating Cities” to register.

The County of Santa Clara purchased the system and is rolling it out to San Jose, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Gilroy, Campbell, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and Los Altos Hills.

On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the San José/Evergreen Community College District Police Department it is my pleasure to welcome you to San José City College and Evergreen Valley Community College. The District Police Department is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment in which our faculty and staff can prepare our students for academic success now and career challenges in the future. The women and men of the District Police Department are a diverse blend of professionals who are committed to the highest standards of professionalism and service. Each member is dedicated to making San José/Evergreen campuses the safest place to work for faculty, staff, students and visitors.
