Applying for Admission to SJCC
SJCC Student ID number is required to schedule an Assessment. You will receive your student ID number, via email, shortly after you submit your application for admission.

Registering for Classes
Students may register for classes by one of the following:

TIPS FOR REGISTERING
*All students must have a current application on file prior to registering for classes - if you try to register without a current application, you will receive the following message on MyWeb "Student has no registration priority . . . "*Work with a counselor early to determine which classes you need to take*Register for classes as soon as you are able to*You will receive an email with your registration appointment– you may register at any time starting with your appointment date and time*Make sure you clear your holds before trying to register*Check to see if there are pre-requisites for the classes you are registering for
ADDING A CLASS
Once the term/semester begins, students wishing to add classes will need an add code from their instructor.
*All students must have a current application on file prior to adding*Students may obtain an add code only from the instructor*If the add code is entered (online or by phone) and the class is not added, a new add code will be necessary*Classes must be added by the deadline to add classes (see
DROPPING A CLASS
It is the student’s responsibility to drop classes that they are not attending and do not intend to attend.
*Classes must be dropped by the “Refund Day” to not be charged for the class (see important dates)*A refund request must be submitted in order to receive a refund of a credit on a student account
-Classes must be dropped by the last day to drop without a W to not receive a W or any academic record (see important dates)
*Classes must be dropped by the last day to drop with a W to receive a W (see important dates)
-Classes dropped with a W count as a class attempted but not completed – students are only allowed to attempt a class up to three times
High School students(concurrent enrollment)
Only 11th and 12th graders may enroll for classes held at SJCC (This restriction does not apply for classes held at the High School campus)High school students may only take one course per term
Supplemental Application Requirements
Certain departments or programs have additional requirements and/or enrollment limitations. In addition to the college Application for Admission, students seeking admission into these programs/departments are required to submit supplemental applications, and are subject to additional screening.
Supplemental applications are required at SJCC for students entering the Cosmetology department and at EVC for students entering Nursing Education and In-Service Law Enforcement.
Cosmetology information is available in the cosmetology building (next to reprographics) or by calling (408) 288-3710.Applications for the In-Service Law Enforcement program are available only at the South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium. Information regarding the supplemental application for EVC Nursing Education is available in the Nursing department office in Sequoia. Students applying to the Nursing Program must submit an official transcript from all previously attended colleges with their Nursing application. Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
