Health Insurance and Health Clearance

All international students are required to have a health insurance plan. Medical care in the United States can be very costly so having insurance will help offset the cost of medical treatment. The International Student Program will provide you with a list of health insurance providers that offers a health insurance policy for San Jose City College students in your admission packet.

Starting in the Fall 2013 semester, international students will be required to purchase a group insurance plan offered through San Jose City College. This allows us to obtain excellent coverage for you at a better value. More information will be provided shortly.

Upon arrival, students will be required to demonstrate proof of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunizations and tuberculosis (TB) test. Students can obtain clearance by submitting proof or scheduling an appointment with SJCC’s Health Center for these free services. Health clearances forms must be submitted within three weeks of the start of the semester.
