Coach "O" returns for her thirteenth year as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at San Jose City College. In her twelve year tenure, she has produced a 276 wins, 4-consecutive State Championship appearances, and the first women's State Championship in the school's history (1998). Coach "O" has led her squad's to the Northern California Regional Play-offs eleven out of the twelve years she's coached at SJCC.
Academically, the Lady Jaguars program makes great pride in the success of it's student athletes. Boasting a 92% graduation rate, including several players in the Honors Program. All six sophomores from last year's squad transferred with their AA degree from SJCC. Coach "O" believes that "The heart of what we're about at City is seeing kids be successful on and off the court".
This past season, the Lady Jags made their 4th straight championship appearance!! Posted a 10-0 conference record for their 3rd Coast Conference Championship in the past four years. Finishing the year with a 29-5 record.
She competed in basketball and softball at the community college level and transferred to Cal State Fullerton on a full softball scholarship. At CSUF, Coach "O" was an All-American and led her team to a national title her senior year. She then competed professionally in Italy and returned to complete her Master's Degree from San Jose State in Human Performance. She is married to Les and is the proud mother of two boys J.D. (7) and Matthew (5). |
