Coach “O” returns for her 20th year as the Head women’s Basketball coach at San Jose City College. In her 19 year tenure, she has led her squad to the Northern California Regional Play-offs seventeen out of nineteen years she has coached at SJCC. The Women’s Team has been to the State Championships four times, and won the first Women’s State Championship in the school’s history in 1997-98 season.

Academically, the Lady Jaguars program takes great pride in the success of its student/athletes. The Women’s Basketball team boasts a 92% graduation rate. This past semester, the Lady Jags produced a 3.2 team g.p.a, with four of the students posting a 3.5 g.p.a and ten student/athletes with a 3.0 or higher. Coach “O” believes that “The heart of what we’re about at city is seeing kids be successful on and off the court.”

She competed in basketball and softball at the Community College level and transferred to Cal State Fullerton on a full softball scholarship. At CSUF, Coach “O” was an All-American and help lead her team to a national title her senior year. During that time, she was selected to two “USA teams” which competed in Australia and New Zealand. She then competed professionally in Italy and returned to complete her Master’s Degree from San Jose State in Human Performance. She is a proud mother of two boys –J.D. (14) and Matthew (11).
