Position Title : Light The Night Internship.1

Hours per Week : . 10-12 hours per week, and very likely to increase during the months prior to events. February - October with the potential to extend.

Duties : This spring, LLS is seeking an LTN intern to work with the LTN campaign staff. We are looking for individuals with an interest in helping to further our mission and gain valuable professional experience at the same time. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

. Work with campaign staff to identify potential volunteer groups to work at our LTN Walks.

. Discuss needs/qualifications of volunteers for Walks and recruitment of qualified volunteer groups.

. Get on schools', corporations', volunteer groups', etc. calendars as volunteer groups for LTN.

. Make follow-up phone calls to various volunteer groups

. Development/implementation of a volunteer orientation program with support from Campaign Manager

. Assistance with event day volunteer coordination, including building event day volunteer schedule

. Perform various data entry projects as needed

. Provide high-level administrative support on special projects for LTN campaign events & volunteer groups

Qualifications / Skills : . Current undergraduate or graduate student pursing a degree in non-profit management, social work, recreation, psychology, business, marketing, communications or a related degree

. 10-12 hours per week, and very likely to increase during the months prior to events

. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently

. Strong interpersonal skills

. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel

. Interest in furthering the LLS's mission and making a difference in the lives of patients & families

. Prior volunteer recruitment/coordination (very helpful)
