Linkages to Baccalaureate Programs

     AMT is an ideal stepping stone for students who after completing the SJCC program want to continue their studies at a four year university. So if you have your eyes on, for example, a BA in Engineering, completion of the SMT program will put you in a very strong position to successfully apply to institutions such as San José State University, or other high quality four year colleges.

     In fact, AMT recently collaborated with local high schools and with San José State University to formalize a seamless educational path that links education in Manufacturing Information Systems provided at the three levels. For high school youth, this means that students will be able to enroll in pre-engineering and information technology courses that will enable them to transition easily into more advanced programs offered at SJCC or at San José State University. For participants in the AMT program, it means that students will be able obtain university credit for courses taken at SJCC and afterwards transfer easily into San José State University's Engineering or other Manufacturing Information Systems program.
