The ART PROGRAM
curriculum emphasizes a solid academic approach based on the structural elements of visual art applicable to both Studio and Graphic arts. We have three areas of emphasis: Painting and Drawing, Ceramics, and Photography. Our courses directly transfer for full credit at California State Universities and the University of California system. By taking your core foundation Art courses at SJCC you will be able to complete all your lower division course work, including Art History surveys, 2D and 3D Design, Color, Beginning Drawing, Representational Drawing, and Expressive Drawing. Electives like Beginning Ceramics, Life Drawing, Painting, and Beginning Photography are transferable. Enjoy small, uncrowded classes where you get plenty of individual attention from experienced instructors who hold graduate degrees in their area.
