Message From The President
Welcome to the San Jose City College (SJCC) Accreditation Home Page. SJCC is accredited through the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), part of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Representing a voluntary system of self regulation, the reaffirmation process allows colleges to evaluate overall educational quality and institutional effectiveness as defined by four Standards: I. Institutional Mission & Effectiveness, II. Student Learning Programs & Services, III. Resources, IV. Leadership & Governance.
Every six years, colleges throughout California participate in the self-study process by evaluating how their programs and services meet the accreditation Standards. During the Fall, 2010 semester, SJCC welcomed a peer review team from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The team reviewed the results of our Self-Study and issued tentative recommendations and commendations to the college. Their insights were both helpful and appreciated. We anticipated the identified areas of deficiencies and for the most part, we were in agreement with their findings. We have created this website to provide you with all the resources associated with our reaffirmation process. Our talented and dedicated faculty, staff and students will continue working collaboratively and productively to bring the college into full compliance. |
