Testing

Applicant Basic Skills Assessment
(English skills and math skills)
To help you determine your skills level in many academic areas including written English expression, reading, ESL, and mathematics, the college provides a comprehensive assessment program. Assessment scores assist you and the counselors to determine the appropriate courses for you to enroll in during your first semester. You will be given an appointment ticket for Placement Testing. The testing is done at the Assessment Center.

Student Classroom Makeup Tests and Career Planning Inventories
Instructors and counselors may refer students to the Assessment Center for career planning inventories. Students may stop by the Admissions Office from 9 am - 6 pm, Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 1 pm Friday, or call 408-288-3708 for an appointment.

National and State Application and Registration Materials
ACT, SAT, TOFEL, CBEST, and CHESPE application and registration materials are usually available in the Testing Center. SJCC is not a testing site for any of these tests.
