SJCC SOFTBALL ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS

In 2011, 5 sophomores transferred to 4 – year universities.   Michele Jacob – Oregon Tech, Liz Foster – CSU Monterey Bay, Allie Hernandez – CSU Monterey Bay, Theresa Torres – CSU Monterey Bay, Vanessa Silva – CSU Monterey Bay.

In 2010, 6 sophomores transferred to 4-year universities.  Jessica Pepin – Hawaii Hilo, Mallory Powers – Holy Names, Alyssa Walker & Tera Macias – CSU Bakersfield, Erika Nowack & Nicole Bertolacci – Dickinson State.

Dre Asista Graduated from the Police Academy.

2011 Academically ranked #29 in the nation – and ranked # 1 in California with a GPA of 3.079 by NFCA (National Fast Pitch Coaches Association)
2009 Academically ranked 19th in the nation by the NFCA (National Fast Pitch Coaches Association) for team academics.
2010 Season there were 4 NFCA All American Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better:  Alyssa Walker, Jessica Pepin, Dre Arista, and Mallory Powers.
Ranked 1st in 2009 with a GPA of 3.02 in all California by the NFCA
In the 2011 season there were 3 NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better: Janae Grimes, Jasmine Jones and Vanessa Silva.

18 Consecutive Regional Appearances.
2008 Elite 8 in the State (5th place in the Elite 8); 2007 Elite 8 in the State.
