On Friday, February 9th over 150 pleased spectators attended San José City College’s (SJCC) presentation of the world-famous Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT). The presentation was sponsored by SJCC’s Black History Month as part of it’s month long schedule of African-American related events.

Under the guidance of founder and artistic director, Ann Williams, the DBDT mission is to create and produce dance at its highest level of artistic excellence through performances and educational programs that bridge cultures and reach diverse communities and audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Speaking about the event, Vice President of Student Affairs Elaine Burns (and chair of Black History Month) noted that, “this is a great opportunity for our students, staff, and the community to see a truly great dance troupe. This is just the beginning of our efforts to make San José City College a bedrock cultural resource for our community. We have a new attitude at SJCC and this is just the first step.”
