Consult with your San José City College (SJCC) Counselor for the admission
and major requirements for the CSU Campus you would like to attend. |
| Step 2 |
Visit each CSU Campus you are interested in attending during the time
the campus is in session. |
| Step 3 |
With the assistance of your counselor; develop a transfer educational
plan to determine proposed date of transfer using the Transfer
Admission Agreement (TAA ) if available. Plan to complete your math
requirement (B4) by the end of the Fall semester for the Fall Transfer and
the spring semester for Spring Semester transfer. Areas A1: Communication
Studies; : A2: Written Communication, and A3: Critical Thinking should be
completed by the end of Spring Semester for Fall Transfer and Fall Semester
for Spring Semester Transfer. |

Make appointments with CSU representatives to review your records during
their college visitation
advisement day at San José City College. Sign up sheets are available in
the Career/Transfer Center. |
| Step 5 |
If you are interested in obtaining financial assistance at the four-year
college complete and return the FAFSA form prior to the filing deadline
date, attend financial aid
workshop and talk with the staff in the SJCC Financial Aid Office for
assistance if necessary. |
| Step 6 |
Attend admission and application transfer
workshops scheduled in the Career/Transfer Center. |
| Step 7 |
Make a transfer file in order to keep a copy of your admission application,
financial aid forms, and copies of your transcripts from all colleges attended
including San José City College and Evergreen Valley College. When you
visit the four-year college take the files with you. You should also have
file to keep materials sent to you from your transfer college. |
| Step 8 |
Complete and send the admission application during the initial filing
priority (October 1 - November 30) for upcoming Fall Semester. Students
planning to transfer to Spring Semester/Quarter, should apply between August
1-31. Be sure to sign your admission application and submit the application-filing
fee with your admission application. |
| Step 9 |
Three weeks after your admission application has been sent, complete the
transcript request
form at San José City College Admissions Office to have a copy of you transcript
sent to your transfer college. |
| Step 10 |
At the end of the Fall and Spring Semester request another transcript
showing your final grades for those semesters. Send copies of summer grades
as well. |
| Step 11 |
Keep updated with your transfer file at your transfer college by calling
your evaluator or using the telephone and pin number given to you by the
four-year college. |
| Step 12 |
Watch your deadline dates given to you by your transfer college. |
| Step 13 |
Transfer and visit us to let us know what we can do to make other students'
transition easier. |
