Arbatisha “Kitch” Kitchen

Congratulations to Lady Jaguar Arbatisha “Kitch” Kitchen on her induction to the California Community College Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

“Kitch” ended her two-year stint with the Lady Jags as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,328 points while playing at the point guard and shooting guard spots. She compiled career averages of 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in 68 games. San Jose went 60-8 in her two-year tenure, including a 34-2 slate and winning the State Championship in 1998. More impressive, she completed her Associate in Arts degree in two years with the realization that education was more important than hanging out on the streets of Jersey playing basketball!

She transferred to Arizona State University (ASU) on a full scholarship to compete in the Pac 10 Conference.  At ASU (1998-00) she was a Defensive standout in her two seasons as a Sun Devil. She led the team and finished 10th in the Pac-10 in steals with 51 (1.76 per game). She started 28 of 29 games for ASU and missed just one game in two seasons. Kitch ended her career with 94 steals (1.7 per game) and was the fourth leading scorer on the team with 9.1 points per game.

She graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She currently resides in Arizona where she owns her own basketball academy, teaching youth the game of basketball and life!!

Congratulations Kitch. Once a Jag, Always a Jag!
