Circulation Desk Assistance 

The Circulation Department assists you by phone during its open hours. (408) 288-3775. Check the homepage for current schedule. All materials, (except reserves), can be renewed online catalog, or by phone. View your currently checked out items and library fees by clicking on My Account through the library’s online catalog.

Reference librarians are available by phone during the library’s open hours. (408) 288-3775. See the homepage for current schedule. You can also contact us by e-mail, SJCC.Library@sjcc.edu, when the  library is open.


Databases

The Library subscribes to databases on many subjects. Find full-text
articles from magazines, journals and  newspapers. Off-campus users must enter name and college ID for access. Contact the Reference Desk for help with connecting to the databases. Help and Tutorials are available to help you search the databases.


E-book Collection

Find E-books lets you browse the library's electronic bookstacks!  Theses titles are exactly the same as the paper version, but are available 24/7 and come to you, wherever you are.


Online Research Guides

Doing research from home? Need a cyber-librarian to help you?   Online Research Guides can guide you to the best information available, both online and in the library The guides cover specific subject areas, offer valuable information for using library resources, and include handouts used during library research classes. 


Find Websites

Check here first before clicking on Google! Find Websites leads you to online resources that have been evaluated for authenticity, accuracy and authority. Have a specific subject in mind? Consult the Subject Guide to Recommended Websites. Try searching with the Best Websites search engines - they access only high quality websites that are recommended  for academic research. 


Web Evaluation

You be the judge! Criteria for Evaluating Web Pages  helps you decide if that neat site you found through Google is really the best source for your paper.


Citation  Help

Most citations for your Works Cited page can be copied and pasted from library electronic resources.  For websites and print materials, you will need to format your own using either MLA or APA style. Try an automatic citation generator to get the job done quicker!
