Safe Zone Training

  • Safe Zone training online through Kognito Inc a ½ hr module 
  • Safe Zone training online plus a workshop for a total of 1 hour 
  • Safe Zone Train the Trainer through the CARS grant from the State Chancellor’s Office and by the Safe Zone Facilitator 
  • Please see instructions on how to complete training below!


Awareness on Campus & in the Community

  • Yearly program for National Coming Out Day

Safe Zone Training

How SJCC Staff Can Complete Safe Zone Training

Instructions for Safe Zone training:
  1. Go to the course information page

  2. Click on “Create an account."

  3. Choose your POV, then choose Next Step

  4. Pull down the menu and choose "San Jose City College."

  5. Follow the prompts

  6. Choose LGBTQ Students on Campus for Faculty and Staff. You may also select other modules for further training.

  7. Click "Launch"

  8. After you are finished, you will receive a certificate at the end

  9. Please alert the contact for a placard and indicate if you want small or large
