On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the San José-Evergreen Community College District Police Department it is our pleasure to welcome you to San José City College. The safety and well being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors is our paramount priority. At SJCC we work to create a safe and welcoming environment. We have also taken steps to improve our communication with you. Through the AlertSSC System, we are able to notify anyone who registers their phone number or email address with text and voice message safety alerts for our campus.
Registering takes only a few minutes through a simple online process. Anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County is encouraged to register their cell phone number and e-mail address by going to http://www.alertscc.com. Click on "Participating Cities" to register.

There are a number of outside organizations that can assist the public during an emergency. These agencies also advise on emergency planning and preparedness. For more information about each entity, please select the link to their webpage.
The campus Facilities & Safety Committee meets twice per month to address any safety concerns and actively engages in assessing campus-wide safety. Initiatives such as our pilot camera program, installation of new emergency phones, and perimeter fencing project continue to improve overall safety on campus.
