On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the San José-Evergreen Community College District Police Department it is our pleasure to welcome you to San José City College. The safety and well being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors is our paramount priority. As members of the San José-Evergreen campus community we all share the responsibility of maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
The District Police Department is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment in which our faculty and staff can prepare our students for academic success now and career challenges in the future. The safety of San Jose City College is ensured by our own San Jose-Evergreen Community College District Police Department. In partnership with our community, the mission of our campus police is to deliver quality service with commitment, compassion, and professionalism. This provides a safe and secure environment, ensuring a better quality of life for our students, staff, and community. Campus police accomplish this throughknowledge, integrity, and high ethical standards.
Facilities & Safety Committee meets twice per month to address any safety concerns and actively engages in assessing campus-wide safety. Initiatives such as our pilot camera program, installation of new emergency phones, and perimeter fencing project continue to improve overall safety on campus.

At SJCC we work to create a safe and welcoming environment. We have also taken steps to improve our communication with you. Through our AlertSSC System, we are able to notify anyone who registers their phone number or email address with text and voice message safety alerts for our campus.
Registering takes only a few minutes through a simple online process. Anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County is encouraged to register their cell phone number and e-mail address by going to http://www.alertscc.com. Click on "Participating Cities" to register.
