SJCC SOFTBALL ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS

  • We take pride in transferring out sophomores at close to a 100% rate. In 2009, 5 sophomores transferred to a 4-year university. Brittney Rivas and Nickie Youngblood- Dickinson State, Kat Pisano and Veronica Howard- CSU Sonoma State, Ashley Frost- West Alabama.
  • Ranked 1st in 2009 with a GPA of 3.02 in all of California by the NFCA 2009 Season there were 4 NFCA All American Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better: Tera Macias, Jessica Pepin, Devin Cannon, and Mallory Powers
  •  We take pride in transferring out sophomores at a 100% rate. In 2008, we were able to help all 10 sophomores transfer to a 4-year university. Jessica Allemandi- Chico State, Linsey Doneilo- CSUMB, Nikki Ames- CSUMB, Jenny Montez- CSUMB, Theresa Jacob- Oregon Tech, Jacklyn Alvarado- Hawaii, Christina Satalino- SJSU, Melissa Gonzalez- Cal State Long Beach, Deborah Duran- Cal State Northridge, Deborah Grijalva- Wingate University
  • 2007 all 3 sophomores transferred to a 4- year university. Tiana King- Concordia; Danielle Torralba- SJSU; Angela Alvarez- SJSU
  • Ranked 19th in the nation in 2007 and 2008 by the NFCA (National Fast Pitch Coaches Association) for team academics
  • Ranked 2nd in 2008 with a GPA of 3.03 in all of California by the NFCA.
  • Ranked 1st in 2007 with a GPA of 3.08 in all of California by the NFCA
  • Ranked 2nd in 2006 with a GPA of 3.148 in all of California by the NFCA
  • 2008 Season there were 3 student athletes named NFCA All American Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better: Jessica Allemandi, Kat Pisano, Theresa Jacob
  • 2007 Season there were 4 student athletes named NFCA ALL American Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or better: Melissa Gonzalez, Tiana King, Theresa Jacob, and Jennifer Sparks
  • 5 Conference Championships: 1996, 1997, 2000, 2007, 2008
  • 15 consecutive Regional appearances
  • 2008 Elite 8 in the State (5th place in the Elite 8); 2007 Elite 8 in the   State
