Cosmetology/Esthetician
Cosmetology courses are open to men and women, and are designed to prepare the student for the State of California licensing examinations.
Enrollment in cosmetology courses are limited to students who are preparing for a career in the occupation and/or for state licenser. Candidates for the cosmetology (1,600 hours), or the esthetician (600 hours) programs must file a supplementary application with the Cosmetology Department. Attendance at an orientation meeting is required. Classes are filled on a first applied basis. A grade of "C" or above is required in each prerequisite course to continue in the sequence of course offerings. Students practice and build their skills on mannequins before serving clients in the state-of-the-art salons of the department.
