Ordering Transcripts Online

San Jose City College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering via the Web. You can order transcripts using any major credit card. Your card will only be charged after your order has been completed.

  • To order an official transcript(s), login to the Clearinghouse secure site.
  • The site will walk you through placing your order, including delivery options and fees. You can order as many transcripts as you like in a single session. A $2.25 processing fee will be charged per recipient.
  • Order updates will be emailed to you. You can also check order status or history online.
  • If you need help or have questions about the Clearinghouse’s transcript ordering service, contact 703-742-7791 or transcripts@studentclearinghouse.org.

The first two official, district-wide, copies of a student's transcripts are free. (This does not apply to emergency transcript requests.) A transcript request can be made by mailing or faxing a signed written request to:

San Jose City College
Office of Admissions and Records
Attention: Transcripts
2100 Moorpark Avenue
San Jose, CA 95128

or FAX to the Office of Admissions and Records: 408-298-1935

Students can also come in to the Office of Admissions and Records and request transcripts, in person. After the first two, there is a charge of $4.00 for each transcript. Emergency transcripts will be produced on the spot for a charge of $10.00 per transcript.

The written request must include the following:

Transcripts from other post-secondary educational institutions may be required to establish a student's prerequisite for certain classes and/or to establish reading and writing levels prior to registering in certain courses. Students should file official transcripts with the college at the time of application for admission. Unofficial copies of transcripts or grade reports may be used for counseling students into courses only.

Transcripts from all colleges attended are required of students who are candidates for the A.A. or A.S. degree. Failure to provide the transcripts will deny the degree.

Both high school and college transcripts must be sent from the prior schools directly to the Office of Admissions and Records and will not be accepted from the student. Official transcripts become the property of the college and will not be returned or copied.

All Veterans are required to file official transcripts with the Office of Admissions and Records from all previous colleges.
