Biography
As a first-generation community college student, Azam has dedicated his career to
building on his passion for helping others through higher education. Mr. Awan’s educational
background includes an Associate of Arts Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences,
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, and a Masters of Science Degree in Management
and Leadership. Azam has served in numerous roles within higher education both in
the CSU and California Community College systems. He continues to be a fierce advocate
for underserved populations and brings energy and a “student-first” approach to his
work within higher education.
