International Student Orientation

International Student Online Orientation

San Jose City College requires all international students to participate in a two-step orientation. The first step is an online orientation that you have to complete before arrival.

How to Get Started:

Step 1:

  1. An email will be sent through Canvas about a month before the beginning of the semester. Follow the  provided link to log into Canvas (see instructions below)
  2. Once you login, you will be prompted to join the SJCC Online Orientation.
  3. Enroll yourself into the orientation.
  4. To complete the online orientation portion, you must download and view the chapter presentations, then complete the quiz with 100% accuracy (It sounds hard, but it is not!) in Canvas.

  • Click on "Modules" on the left hand side to view chapter presentations and quiz
  • You can repeat the quiz multiple times
  • Once you have finished the quiz with 100% accuracy, you have completed online orientation!
  • Feel free to use the "Discussions" tab and check out postings/chat with our international student ambassadors!

Step 2:

  1. Attend an in-person international student orientation upon arrival.
