For assistance with your taxes, here are direct links to the Federal tax website and  California tax website if you wish to file them yourself.  Taxes can be complicated, so we recommend you consult with a tax expert/software.  Below are options you may wish to consider:
  • Use online services such as Sprintax (for a fee)
  • Visit the free tax services on campus in the METAS Center (M-102)
  • Other places you may go for free tax help can be found here.

Do I need 1098-T Form?

The District Office typically does not generate 1098-T forms for F1 international students, as international student tuition should not be claimed unless you are a true dependent of a taxpayer (e.g. child/spouse) that is a U.S. Citizen or resident alien. If you need to obtain a copy of your 1098-T Form, please complete and submit Internal Revenue Service Form W-9 and provide your Social Security Number (SSN) / Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) to the Admissions and Records office. Your MyWeb will be updated with your 1098-T form in late January.
