Traveling Abroad

Traveling Abroad

You may want to travel during the college’s holidays and summer breaks. In order to return to the U.S. after your travels, you need the 2nd page of your current I-20 signed by a DSO (Designated School Official).

Bring in your I-20 to the International Student Program office to obtain a travel signature at least 2 weeks prior to your travel. This signature is valid for 12 months (although it is recommended to come in after 6 months) so if you travel again during another break, you do not have to obtain a new signature. Complete the Travel Outside The U.S. Form. Also bring your other travel documents (passport, visa, I-94) so ISP can review them. Make sure your visa has “M” for multiple entries. If your visa has expired, you must renew your visa to reenter the United States. We recommend you travel with copies of your tuition payment, class registration, and transcripts as proof of your F-1 status in case it is requested upon re-entry.
