Tip: For time-sensitive requests (events, deadlines, media coverage), submit your form as early as possible and include event date/time, location, audience, and desired deliverables.

Photo Release (Informed Consent)

San José City College reserves the right to use photographs of students and visitors age 18 and older taken on campus or at college-sponsored events for marketing and promotional purposes.

Posting Photos or Videos

  • Be mindful when posting photos, video, or audio recordings that feature identifiable individuals.
  • Recordings in locations where there is an expectation of privacy (including classrooms, offices, vehicles, and residences) should only be posted if all identifiable individuals have signed the approved release form.
  • In public spaces and public events, releases may not be required; however, provide verbal notice and offer individuals the opportunity to opt out.
  • Each authorized user is responsible for obtaining signatures and maintaining records of release forms.
